What is the best gift you ever gave your children at Christmastime?
IIn this short video (2:33), Ron shares his tradition of giving his five children a “Christmas List” each year as a special Christmas gift when they were growing up. The list contained ways that the child could spend one on one time with him during the coming year, and they were each able to choose one opportunity from the list to be their gift from him that year. He recounts the value of time together with his children as well as the need to treat each of our children uniquely.
In a season when we have generous hearts but may be looking for ways to save money, Ron’s idea of a “Christmas List” is one that can broaden our understanding of what it means to give generously to our children.
As always, Ron’s encouragement to you is to go back to God’s Word to restore your faith. This week, as Christmas approaches, take time to read through the prophecies and promises in Isaiah 40 – 44, contemplating the ways that God knows us and the ways that He has tended to our individual and corporate needs. Be blessed by the limitless “list” that God gives to each one of us, His beloved children.
