What type of car should my 16 year old have?
In this short video (2:50), Ron speaks to the question of buying a car for a child who is a new driver. Ron’s life experience allows him to answer the question from the financial angle as well as from a parenting angle. He speaks to the issue of communication with teenagers and to the dangers of buying cars for children that they have to “live up to.”
As always, Ron’s encouragement to you is to go back to God’s Word to restore your faith. Take a moment to consider the following Scriptures on training children, and meditate on their Truth and their application.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NIV)
“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
Proverbs 13:24 (NIV)
“He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.”
Luke 6:40 (NIV)
“
A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”
Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
